model resource

From The x3270 Wiki
Type Default Option: -model
string 3279-4-E x3270 c3270 wc3270 s3270 b3270

Defines the model of 3270 to emulate.

Note: This resource can be changed at runtime on b3270 and s3270 via the Set() action, when not connected to a host, but cannot be changed on the other emulators.

Syntax

The model resource can define the entire model, or it can be abbreviated to just a digit n, which is expanded to 3279-n-E.

Relationship to the TELNET terminal type

When the emulator sends the terminal type in the TELNET TERMINAL TYPE negotiation, it prepends IBM- to the fully-expanded model name. So if the model resource is 4, the emulator sends IBM-3279-4-E.

This can be overridden by the termName resource.
